Traffic Management Centre and Vnesheconombank Group to Cooperate in Road Traffic Safety

At the 7th Moscow Urban Forum, the Federal Center for Project Finance (FCPF, part of Vnesheconombank Group) and the Government of Moscow Traffic Management Centre entered into a cooperation agreement to develop and implement information technology solutions in road traffic safety.

Under the agreement, the parties will exchange information, including in respect of potential and future activities, experience in project implementation, planned projects, mechanisms for project implementation and project participants. Additionally, the parties will jointly explore the possibilities of using public-private partnerships for road traffic coordination, management and safety in Moscow

“Moscow is the largest city in Russia and Europe. We have implemented an intelligent transport system, which reduces accident rates and increases road capacity. The system that we have developed, using smart technology, helped us to successfully cope with challenges during the FIFA World Cup. Vnesheconombank Group is a partner enabling us to share experience with other cities while saving budgetary funds through the introduction of the Moscow system,” the Government of Moscow Traffic Management Centre’s head Vadim Yuriev said.

“In addition to the joint preparation and examination of PPP projects for the benefit of Moscow, we are also interested in the transfer of competences and solutions from the Government of Moscow to road safety projects in other Russian regions. We are sure that implementing the national project ‘Safe and High-Quality Roads’, contained in the May presidential decree, will need and use the experience gained by the Traffic Management Centre,” FCPF’s General Director Dmitry Tvardovsky said.
