Alexey Miroshnichenko has been appointed as Vnesheconombank’s Deputy Chairman. His principal function in this position will be the introduction of effective risk governance into Vnesheconombank Group.
As a member of the Vnesheconombank Group team, Alexey Miroshnichenko will be responsible for building up a risk management system, taking into account the nature and scale of the core development institution focusing its activities on supporting major infrastructure and high-technology projects and Russian exports and on launching new financial products and instruments such as the project financing factory.
Previously, Alexey Miroshnichenko was Gazprombank’s First Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. He introduced into the bank such instruments as formalised risk appetite, risk-based lending rules, risk limits for the balance sheet structure, indicators for the early detection of potentially bad debts. Prior to that, he worked in the consulting department at PricewaterhouseCoopers B.V. in charge of risk management projects for Russia’s major financial sector players.
He received fundamental education in mathematics from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He completed a postgraduate programme at the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation (with a Candidate of Science (Economics) degree) and did an MBA under the TRIUM programme of the NYU Stern School of Business, HEC Paris and the London School of Economics.
